- TITLE: 123 for Windows Range Does Not Import
- PRODUCT: Ami Pro 2.0, 3.0
- DATE: 30-Jul-92
-
- PROBLEM:
-
- When importing a range beginning with a cell greater than A256 from a 123 for
- Windows spreadsheet into Ami Pro, the error message "XXX is not a valid range
- for this spreadsheet" (where XXX is the range) displays.
-
- SOLUTION:
-
- The workaround to this problem is to give the cell range in 123 for Windows a
- name and specify the range name when importing into Ami Pro.
-
- HOW TO GIVE A RANGE A NAME IN 123 FOR WINDOWS
-
- 1. Display your 123 for Windows spreadsheet.
- 2. Select the range that you want to import into Ami Pro.
- 3. Select Range / Name / Create.
- 4. Type a name for the range in the "Range name" edit box.
- 5. Choose OK.
- 6. Save the 123 for Windows spreadsheet.
- 7. Display your Ami Pro document.
- 8. Select File / Open.
- 9. Choose "1-2-3 rel 3" from the "File type" list box in Ami Pro 2.0 or from
- the "List files of type" list box in Ami Pro 3.0.
- 10. Type the path and the file name in the "File name" edit box. (For
- example, type C:\123W\FILE0001.WK3.)
- 11. Choose OK.
- 12. Select Range from the Import dialog box.
- 13. Type the name of the range from 123 for Windows in the edit box.
- 14. Choose OK.
-
- Your 123 for Windows range will now import into Ami Pro.
